Digital screens for expo both at the tech event NextM 2023

NextM is the largest marketing and tech event in the Nordics. The title of NextM 2023 was ‘All Fun and Games – two days of radical optimism.’

Schibsted, the largest media group in Scandinavia with brands like SvD, Aftonbladet, and Blocket, attended the event with an expo booth inspired by Tivoli carousels. My role on the team, as a Motion Designer, was to develop and animate a motion concept for the digital screens that showcased nine different Schibsted brands and reinforced the carousel concept.

The neon concept

One of the challenges was to unify all the different brands visually. The screens feature a neon style reminiscent of classic Tivolis, with a touch of technology to align with the event's focus. Each brand uses its brand color in neon, and spins over to the next brand to resemble the movement of a carousel.

Concept exploration

During the early stages of concept development, one idea was to use balls to evoke a playful feeling while also unifying the different brands.
